Sahlep Ice Cream Recipe
If you miss that authentic taste of ice cream from childhood, I have an excellent recipe for you. Moreover, it does not contain eggs, etc. It is effortless to make delicious ice cream with only three ingredients.
Sahlep, milk, and sugar, but Sahlep should be pure Sahlep, not a mixture. You can buy 1-2 uses from Herbalist.
I did a lot, so I put half of it in the ice cream machine and put the half in the freezer in a regular container. When my ice cream machine was old, and its chamber was one of those that cooled in the freezer, it was not enough to give the ice cream the consistency I wanted. I throw the gummy ice cream next to the other in the freezer.
After that, I took the ice cream in both containers every hour and whipped it with a mixer. I even hand blender it at some point when it got frozen. The result was incredible texture and flavor.
If there is an ice cream machine in 6 hours, if not, it comes to the consistency of gummed Maraş ice cream around 10 hours.
I think the flavor is more established when you listen to it for one night. I’m sure everyone in the house will love it.
- 1 heaping tablespoon pure Sahlep
- 2 liters of milk
- 2 cups of granulated sugar (half a glass can reduce if desired)
1Mix one tablespoon of granulated sugar and Sahlep and put in a pot. Add some of the cold milk to the top and whisk.
In the remaining milk, add it gradually to prevent the Sahlep from clumping and whisk.
2Cook on medium heat until it gets a consistency. Add the powdered sugar to the boiling mixture. Mix and cook for another 10 minutes.
Take the cooked mixture from the stove and cool it by stirring it from time to time to prevent the cream from getting stuck.
If the mixture is cold, take it to the ice cream machine.
3If not, take it directly into the container where you will store the ice cream.
Take it out of the cupboard and pass it through the mixer every hour.
4Repeat this process for 6 to 10 hours and serve when the ice cream has the consistency you want.
